The Pittsburgh Steelers have all but announced that they are going to switch their quarterbacks from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson. While the team seems to be trying to keep it a secret, their star receiver may have just spilled the beans on who is going to be their starter for this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers Are Switching To Russell Wilson
The first piece of crucial evidence came with how Justin Fields reacted to a potential benching, and it was already all over his face that he would not be the starter for this upcoming game. Fans were loving what Fields had to say and preferred that he stay the starter.
“I don’t think I played good enough if I’m being real with you,” Fields said. “If I’m being real with myself, if I did play well enough, I don’t think there would be any sort of (question) who should be playing who should not.”
Justin Fields very candid today: “I don’t think I played good enough if I’m being real with you.

While Fields did not say anything as to who would be the starter officially, the team’s star receiver basically leaked that they would be switching to Wilson.
George Pickens Leaks The Team’s new Starter
When speaking to reporters on Friday, Pickens seemed to leak that Wilson is indeed going to be the new starter. Pickens said that he had been getting extra reps in with Wilson as he is going to be the starter this week. He flat out said the secret out in the air:
George Pickens said he’s been putting in extra work with QB Russell Wilson after practice – more than usual – “because this is his first start.” pic.twitter.com/6rlQSBU8Hj

“Yeah (we’re) getting on the same page after practice, throwing (the ball). More than usual because this is his first start,” Pickens said.
This may get him into a bit of trouble with the head coach Mike Tomlin as this came less than an hour after Tomlin publicly stated that he would be keeping the decision in-house till game time. That was in order for the opposing team to need to prepare for both of the quarterbacks, but now they can safely assume to prepare for Wilson.
Unless Pickens is doing Jedi Mind-tricks he leaked the new starting quarterback for the team. Fans love that Pickens gave away the secret:
“he just told us what we already knew, it wasn’t no secret,” one user remarked.
“Lmao Tomlin doing all he can to hide the fact Russ is starting just for GP to say it,” wrote another.
“George is like if you guys are gonna force me to talk to the media, I’m gonna have some fun lol,” a third wrote.
At this point, no one is going to be surprised when Wilson is the starter, and it is shocking that for a Tomlin-led team, this would be laked to the public by one of their star players.
