Injuries have decimated the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line since the start of training camp and through their first four games of the 2024 season. Center Nate Herbig suffered a season-ending torn rotator cuff in the third week of August. Left guard Isaac Seumalo suffered a strained pectoral in the last week of August and missed their first four games. Rookie right tackle Troy Fautanu suffered a season-ending dislocated kneecap a few days before their third game. Add their other starting guard to the list.
The Pittsburgh Steelers RG suffered a lower leg injury
Starting right guard James Daniels exited their sixth offensive snap of the game with an apparent ankle injury. Daniels slowly limped off the field and walked into the medical tent for further examination. The medical staff proceeded to cart him into the locker room, and he did not return for the rest of the game. After the game, he was spotted in a walking boot on his left leg and had crutches on.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announce devastating news
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, James Daniels suffered an Achilles tear and will miss the rest of the season. The Steelers will place him on injured reserve soon, a major blow to their already thin and banged-up offensive line. Not only will Daniels miss the rest of the season, but he will also be an unrestricted free agent in 2025, which could impact his market value.

Who will replace him?
It’s unclear who replaces James Daniels in the starting rotation since Isaac Seumalo hasn’t played yet. Spencer Anderson started their first three games, but rookie Mason McCormick got the nad in Week 4 with the plan of alternating both at left guard. Due to Daniels’ injury, Anderson took over at right guard. It could be Anderson since McCormick has primarily played left guard in college.
