Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has bigger fish to fry than the George Pickens drama heading into Sunday’s battle against the Green Bay Packers. Tomlin spoke to the media, emphasizing the importance of staying focused on their current task, winning three of four, and keeping pace with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.

Mike Tomlin: Downplays George Pickens’ Frustrations
“I know it’s a cute story for you guys, but it is a pebble in my shoe, to be quite honest with you, in terms of the things that I have to do in an effort to get this group ready to play,” said Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin regarding the frustrations presented by George Pickens after his team’s 20-16 win over the Tennessee Titans last Thursday.
Pickens finished the game with just two catches for -1 yard. He had an opportunity to score midway through the third quarter but failed to get both feet down on a would-be 12-yard touchdown. He was also visually absent from teammate Diontae Johnson’s celebration in the endzone after he scored his first touchdown since 2021. Additionally, Pickens took to his Instagram account to post cryptic photos with the text “free me” underneath. He also removed all Pittsburgh Steelers’ posts on his account.
Tomlin continued, “This week, our focus is on the Green Bay Packers and what we’re all going to do in this football game, and I can’t state it any better than that. It’s like reality television, the way you guys follow social media and write stories about it.”
Pittsburgh Steelers: Looking to Take Down the Packers in Week 10
The Pittsburgh Steelers currently hold the first spot in the AFC Wild Card. However, they play in the hyper-competitive AFC North, making every game more critical. George Pickens will look to get back on track on Sunday against the Packers. He has 30 receptions for 521 yards and three touchdowns this season.
