The Pittsburgh Steelers needed to address the swing tackle position after losing their starting left tackle, Dan Moore Jr., to the Tennessee Titans, weakening their depth outside Broderick Jones Jr. and Troy Fautanu. They currently have two backup offensive tackles, Dylan Cook and Doug Nester; both have yet to play in a regular season game in their respective careers. Because of this, the Steelers need to add someone with ample playing time in case of an emergency.
Pittsburgh Steelers retained veteran tackle

On X, the Steelers announced they had signed Calvin Anderson to a two-year contract. Anderson will compete for the swing tackle job this offseason.

He finished 2024 with Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Calvin Anderson in late September after the New England Patriots released him with an injury settlement. Anderson served as the swing tackle following the injury to Troy Fautanu and played 11 offensive snaps in four appearances. He suffered a groin injury during mid-December, and the Steelers placed him on injured reserve, missing Weeks 15-18. The veteran tackle was activated off injured reserve for the Wild Card.
