The Pittsburgh Steelers have gone all out this offseason, especially on the defensive side, hoping to make a deep playoff run. The team re-signed DeShon Elliott, signed Darius Slay Jr., and drafted Derrick Harmon in the first round. With these moves, the Steelers aim to build one of the top defenses in the league, which will be paramount to their playoff success.
One area where the front office could add more talent is the secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers expressed interest in an elite CB

The Steelers were one of the few teams interested in acquiring Jalen Ramsey, as their secondary struggled in coverage, allowing the eighth-most passing yards in 2024. The Miami Dolphins and the 7x-Pro Bowler mutually agreed to seek a trade in April for contractual reasons, and a trade could not be processed until after June 1st due to salary cap ramifications. Ramsey would instantly improve the cornerback position, already featuring Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr.
Pittsburgh Steelers add 7x-Pro Bowler in blockbuster trade

According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a blockbuster multiple-player trade and draft pick swap. As Rapoport and Pelissero point out, the Steelers acquire Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-round pick, and the Dolphins receive Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. Also, Ramsey receives a $1.5 million raise, bringing his salary to $26.6 million.
