The Philadelphia Eagles play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their fourth regular season game of the 2024 season at noon. This game is a rematch of their 9-32 blowout loss to the Buccaneers in the Super Wild Card round. This will be the fourth straight time they play on the road at Raymond James Stadium.
The Eagles will not have their best offensive linemen for today’s game.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ elite RT suffered a concussion in their last game
Lane Johnson exited the second quarter of their last game with an apparent head injury. He suffered the fourth concussion of his NFL career and did not return for the remainder of the game as the Eagles ruled him out at halftime. He tried to clear the concussion protocol in time for the game.
He will not play
Lane Johnson did not participate in Wednesday and Thursday’s practice but was a limited participant on Friday. The Philadelphia Eagles had him as questionable, hoping he would clear the concussion protocol in time for their game. Unfortunately, he did not, and the Eagles ruled him out.
#Eagles RT Lane Johnson (concussion) didn’t clear the protocol in time for today’s game at the Bucs and will be listed out, NFL sources said.
The Eagles are 91-54-1 when he’s in the lineup, 14-22 when he’s not in the regular season.

Who will replace him?
Fred Johnson will start at right tackle. Johnson hasn’t started a game since 2021 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. He took over for Lane last week, playing their final 54 snaps. Nick Sirianni praised him last week for his efforts.
“Fred is obviously very talented and has something you can’t teach: massive size and strength and athleticism,” he said. “He came here and got a fresh start here, and he’s worked his butt off.”
