Through the first three weeks of the 2024 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles and head coach Nick Sirianni hold a 2-1 record. It hasn’t all been pretty, but the team has found ways to win.
Sirianni entered the year potentially on the hot seat. After the brutal late-season collapse in 2023, many fans and media members wanted to see a new head coach take over. Despite the calls for a change, the Eagles opted to keep Sirianni around for at least one more year.
So far, that move has paid off and is looking like the right decision.
Following the team’s Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, one Philadelphia star spoke out about his head coach.
Philadelphia Eagles Star Opens Up About Nick Sirianni
Dallas Goedert played hero for the Philadelphia Eagles during the win over the Saints. Late in the game, when his team needed it the most, he came through with a massive reception that set up the game-winning score.
During a recent segment on the Pat McAfee Show, Goedert took some time to speak out about Sirianni. He is clearly a big fan of his head coach.
“He’s incredible. He’s the same person every day. He brings the energy. He wants the most, and gets the most, out of his players. It’s tough to be a coach in Philadelphia, even when you win, they want your head and don’t think you’re doing the right thing.”
Goedert continued forward, talking even more about his head coach.
“But, you know, we have all the faith in Sirianni, he’s got all the faith in us, which is really cool. Which is why he goes for it on 4th down so much, because he trusts his players and we trust him — I think moreso, the calls he makes, we have to execute as players and make sure we’re able to get the job done. That makes me feel good as a player when the coach has that much faith in his guys.”
At this point in time, the Philadelphia Eagles certainly look the part of a serious contender in the NFC. Hopefully, they’ll be able to stay on that path this year and not suffer a collapse.
