Even though he has retired from the NFL, former center Jason Kelce still has a lot of things on his mid he’d like to say. The most recent topic is what the Philadelphia Eagles legend ‘s problem has over country music.
Kelce has been a cornerstone of the Eagles since being drafted in 2011. He made history as the first Eagles rookie to start all 16 games that season, though a torn ACL in 2012 temporarily derailed his progress. Kelce bounced back stronger than ever in 2013, helping the team reach the playoffs.

The center signed a lucrative extension in 2014 and continued to excel, making his first Pro Bowl in 2014 and earning All-Pro honors in 2017. That championship season, Kelce played a pivotal role in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots, delivering an iconic speech that cemented his status as a Philadelphia legend.
Over the next several years, Kelce broke franchise records, signed multiple extensions to remain in the city, and started a family. After contemplating retirement, he returned in 2022 as the league’s highest-paid center, ultimately facing off against his brother Travis in Super Bowl LVII. Kelce’s storied 13-year career with the Eagles came to an end in 2024 with his retirement.
Philadelphia Eagles Legend Jason Kelce Admits Problem About Country Music

Not everyone is a fan of country music and it seems Kelce is counted among those people. In an article written by Carly Tagen-Dye for People.com, the Eagles icon got real and admitted his problem about that certain kind of music.
“Hip-hop in the nineties and hip-hop in the eighties when it was done by, like, dudes that were living that life hits way different than, like, now when it’s like auto-tune renditions,” he said. “It’s the same thing in country music.
If I have to hear one more country song that’s like, ‘I got my boots in my truck going through the fields.’ Like, what the f— are we talking about? That’s not country music. That’s not country music.”
“Put on some f—— Willie Nelson,” Jason added. “I am tired of country music and what it has become. It is horse—-. Horse—-,” Tagen-Dye wrote.
Kelce mentioned his disdain for country music during a recent podcast episode of New Heights with Travis. Strangely enough, pop artist Taylor Swift, his brother’s girlfriend, started out as a country musician.

It remains to be seen whether Kelce won’t change his mind about country music or not. In any case, it looks like the Philadelphia Eagles star is living his best life after retirement.

Jason Kelce is a smart man. He’s 100% correct. Commercialized anything is not as good.
