The Philadelphia Eagles have started off the 2024 NFL season with a 2-2 record and are without a doubt a playoff contender in the NFC. While they are a playoff contender, there are some obvious weaknesses that the team will need to address.
One of those weaknesses would be in the pass-rush. In order to become a legitimate Super Bowl contender, they will need to improve their ability to get to the quarterback.
Recently, a trade idea was suggested for the Eagles that would help fix those issues.
Philadelphia Eagles Linked To Intriguing Trade with Buffalo Bills
CBS Sports took a look at a trade that each team should pursue before the NFL trade deadline. When it came to Philadelphia, they suggested that the Eagles pursue a trade with the Bills for veteran pass-rusher Von Miller.
“The Eagles probably shouldn’t be in the business of adding aging defenders. But they badly need a pass rush, and Miller, though suspended until Week 8, was a Pro Bowler under Vic Fangio in Denver.”
His suspension stems from violating the substance-abuse policy of the NFL.
Prior to being suspended, Miller played in four games for Buffalo. He racked up five tackles and three sacks, showing that he’s back to being a very legitimate threat in the pass-rush. His presence would help take the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense to the next level.
At 35 years old, Miller is in the final stage of his NFL career. He’s looking to compete for another championship.
Obviously, he could accomplish that goal by stick with the Bills, but even a trade to the Eagles would give him a chance to accomplish the goal. At least for this season, he could be a viable trade target for Philadelphia.
All of that being said, this is just one route that the Philadelphia Eagles could take. There are a few other pass-rushers around the NFL that could make sense as well. However, a trade for Miller could be arguably the biggest impact move they could make for a lower cost.
