The Philadelphia Eagles are going into the 2024 season with a huge chip on their shoulder. After starting 10-1, the Eagles had an epic collapse during the second half of the season. Not only did they finish 11-6, but they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
The 2024 season will be one of revenge (at least the Eagles hope it is), however, could it be without one player who demands a trade?
Philadelphia Eagles May Have A Trade Demand On Their Hands
Ryan Fowler of Bleacher Report highlighted a number of players who is most likely to demand a trade in 2024, Eagles’ James Bradberry made the list:
One of Philadelphia’s top corners last fall, James Bradberry was nearly unplayable during the final third of the Eagles’ campaign.
His postseason wasn’t pretty, either, as he allowed five catches on six targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s Wild Card Round loss to Tampa Bay.
With an influx of young talent in the building following the selections of corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in this year’s draft, Bradberry could eye a new opportunity elsewhere.
While Bradberry has earned reps at the safety spot at points this offseason in an effort to diversify his role, his lack of experience at the position and a moveable contract (with two years remaining) could force GM Howie Roseman’s hand in making calls to teams in need of veteran legs on the backend.
A change of scenery might be a career saving move for Bradberry. However, the Eagles’ secondary lacks significant depth, and losing Bradberry wouldn’t help things.
It will be interesting to see how the Eagles handle Bradberry and their entire secondary throughout the 2024 season.
