The Philadelphia Eagles made Jalen Hurts one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the offseason. That decision continues to pay dividends for the team. During the week 9 win against the Dallas Cowboys, Hurts passed the legendary Randall Cunningham in the Eagles record books.

Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Hurts Passes Randall Cunningham
Hurts got his 33rd rushing touchdown over the weekend. The legendary Cunningham had 32 in his career with the Eagles making Hurts the all-time franchise leader. The quarterback position has changed over the years making it easier for quarterbacks to get rushing touchdowns but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Hurts just passed a legend. He most likely isn’t done either. The infamous “Tush Push” play gets Hurts a lot of easy touchdowns and the team runs the play to perfection.
More Records To Come?
If Hurts continues this trajectory, he will likely break more records for the Eagles. It helps when Devonta Smith and AJ Brown are catching passes and he has one of the best offensive lines in the game. Still, that doesn’t take away from the player that Hurts has become. He is still young enough that he should rack up plenty of stats for this team and continue to have them in the playoff picture throughout his career.
The Eagles are on the fast track to the number-one seed in the NFC. They have a two-game lead over the rest of the teams. However, a brutal schedule to end the season will test the Eagles to see if they can get the first-round bye. They have the inside track but they need to continue to win big games in order to lock it down.
