The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off a blockbuster trade with the NFC East rival Washington Commanders, adding wide receiver Jahan Dotson to quarterback Jalen Hurts’ arsenal.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles sent Washington a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks in exchange for Dotson and a fifth-round selection.
Originally chosen in the first-round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Commanders, out of Penn State, Dotson has pulled down 84 of his 144 targets for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns through his first 29 games.
However, over the course of this spring and preseason, Dotson seemed to fall out of favor with the Commanders’ new coaching staff, and tumbled down the depth chart from his previous perch as Washington’s No. 2 receiver behind veteran Terry McLaurin.
Prior to Thursday’s trade to Philadelphia, Dotson’s name had been linked in various trade speculation with teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, who had been shopping for help at wide receiver.
What Jahan Dotson Adds to The Philadelphia Eagles’ Offense

Dotson, 5-foot-11 and 182 pounds, has game-altering speed and has made several highlight-reel worthy catches so far in his career.
In Philadelphia, Dotson rounds out what may be one of the more complete wide receiving corps in the NFL, alongside dynamic playmakers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Over the past two seasons, it has become obvious that general manager Howie Roseman and the Eagles had been scouring for a downfield threat — or even a consistent producer at the third receiver spot, having signed Julio Jones last season and adding Parris Campbell and Davante Parker during free agency this offseason, prior to Parker’s retirement shortly after that.
Dotson joins fellow former Nittany Lion, running back Saquon Barkley, in the Eagles’ backfield alongside quarterback Jalen Hurts.
