The Philadelphia Eagles‘ pass rush was dealt a major blow ahead of Sunday’s showdown against the Los Angeles Rams.
Eagles pass-rusher Bryce Huff, who overcame a sluggish start to the 2024 campaign and had produced 2.5 sacks over the past six weeks, will undergo surgery to repair an injured wrist.
Prior to Wednesday, Huff was seen wearing a cast on the field for the past several weeks as he was dealing with the wrist injury that finally got to the point of requiring surgery.
Bryce Huff’s Disappointing Season Derailed for Philadelphia Eagles
Huff has made five starts so far this season along defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s front-seven, but has yet to live up to the billing of his three-year contract worth $51.1 million he signed as a free agent earlier this spring.
However, the Eagles’ pass rush has improved dramatically in recent weeks thanks to the contributions of former first-round pick Nolan Smith and veteran linebacker Zack Baun chipping in timely sacks generating consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
The Eagles are hopeful that Huff will be back on the field at some point this season. Through the 2024 campaign’s first
Huff has produced 2.5 sacks with 10 total tackles and one forced fumble so far this season.
