Philadelphia Eagles Name Among Best Fit for 5-Time Pro Bowler Amid NFL Dynasty Potential

The Philadelphia Eagles are on a quest to win another Super Bowl after denying the Kansas City Chiefs a three-peat last February. As the new kings of the league, the Eagles can further add pieces to their roster who can deliver the goods once it’s time for them to defend their crown.

How about a new wide receiver in the form of five-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper?

The former Alabama Crimson Tide star wideout is still on the free-agent market after spending the 2024 campaign first with the Cleveland Browns and then with the Buffalo Bills. The Eagles come across as a suitable landing spot for the 30-year-old Cooper, who isn’t just looking for a job but a Super Bowl ring as well.

    Via Kevin Patra of NFL.com:

Howie Roseman deserves the “Dynasty Patriots Treatment,” wherein every available free agent or trade target is linked to his Eagles. The two-time Super Bowl-winning GM isn’t shy about adding veteran depth — see Julio Jones, 2023 — and Philly’s drop-off behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith is steep. Jahan Dotson, the team’s WR3, put up 216 yards last season.

Behind that trio sits 2024 sixth-rounder Johnny Wilson and another reclamation project in Terrace Marshall Jr. As they did last year before the Dotson trade, the Eagles could let things shake out and see if any youngsters are ready to take on a bigger role. However, adding a veteran could make sense as we near the season. Philly offers Cooper a legit shot at chasing a ring in 2025 that others on this list cannot.

Amari Cooper can bring value to the Philadelphia Eagles’ passing attack

    Amari Cooper,
Bills Josh Allen leaps to the end zone in a nine-yard touchdown run after getting the ball passed back to him from Amari Cooper during second half action of their home game against the San Francisco 49ers in Orchard Park on Dec. 1, 2024.

Cooper, who was traded by the Browns along with a 2025 sixth-rounder to the Bills in exchange for a third-round pick in 2025 and a 2027 seventh-rounder, recorded just 547 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 44 receptions and 85 targets in 2024.

About to turn 31 in June, Cooper could provide excellent depth for the Eagles’ wide receiver room, behind DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown. His experience can also be beneficial in the locker room, around young guys like Johnny Wilson and Terrace Marshall Jr..
