The Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker/EDGE rusher position is in pretty good shape, with Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt as the projected starters and Josh Uche as the next man up for the 2025 season. However, Philadelphia needs to add more players to the position since utilizing three EDGE rushers is not enough for the defense, given the importance of outside linebacker depth. The Eagles understand the importance of depth by adding an EDGE rusher from their archrivals.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Eagles signed former New York Giants pass rusher Azeez Ojulari to a one-year, $4 million contract.

Here’s a quick review of his NFL career
The New York Giants drafted Azeez Ojulari in the 2nd round, 50th overall of the 2021 NFL Draft. After appearing in every game during his rookie season, Ojulari has battled injuries in each of the last three seasons, causing him to miss 22 out of 51 games. When he plays, the former second-round pick has demonstrated his abilities as a solid pass rusher and has plenty of upside, with 37 QB hits, 22 sacks, and four forced fumbles in 46 games and 30 starts.
Ojulari recorded 28 tackles, seven TFLs, ten QB hits, and six sacks in 11 games and five starts in 2024. He also registered 22 pressures and an 8.4% pass-rush win rate. Unfortunately, a torn ligament in his big toe caused him to miss their final six games.
