NFL players don’t seem to care much for the Philadelphia Eagles or Dallas Cowboys fanbases, per a new anonymous player poll published by The Athletic. The NFC East rival fanbases appear to bother many teams outside their division.
The Cowboys and Eagles are currently the two best teams in the NFC East. And their fanbases are proud of it. But are they taking it too far?
The Philadelphia Eagles have the ‘most annoying’ fanbase
The Athletic recently published the poll results on different questions, from who the best trash talker is in the league to who has the worst stadium. 25.3 percent of players polled said the Eagles have the most annoying fanbase (They win at that, too). 24.7 percent think that title should go to the Dallas Cowboys:
“The Eagles and Cowboys apparently aren’t just competing on the field, with both grabbing about a quarter of the votes from the 73 players who answered this question.
“Just loud, rude and obnoxious,” one player said of Eagles fans, who might be nodding along in agreement at this moment. “They just swear they’re the biggest football gurus on earth,” added another.
Said a player who picked the Cowboys: “They usually think they should win the Super Bowl every year.”
The two teams will meet again on Dec. 10 in Dallas. Eagles players will get the chance to sweep the Cowboys in front of their home crowd. That should be enough to silence Cowboys fans’ hopes of winning a Super Bowl this season.
But if the poll is any indicator, it won’t.
