The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for their week one matchup against the Green Bay Packers this Friday. For the first time in league history, the game will be played in Brazil to further expand the NFL into new countries. However, it seems the league’s decision to play in this country is starting to backfire, as they have warned the families of all the players to not travel for the game.
Philadelphia Eagles Player’s Family Warned
Philadelphia’s star defender Darius Slay said he does not want to play in the Brazil game as the NFL has advised families to not travel for the game because of the high crime rate. There have already been issues regarding the game, as it was also warned that both teams (who both wear green) would not be able to wear green jerseys because it is the color of Plameiras, which is a huge rival of Corinthians football club, which has witnessed recent killings.

Darius Slay Shares Opinion
The star defender talked about his thoughts on the week one game, saying while he is looking forward to it, he does not want to be in South America because of the high crime rate.
I can’t wait. But man, I do not wanna go to Brazil… They already told us not to leave the hotel. They told us we can’t do too much because the crime rate is crazy. I’m like ‘NFL, why would you wanna send us somewhere with a crime rate this hight?”
While fans in Brazil and the league are very excited for the matchup to take place, the events leading up to the game in the country may possibly prevent the NFL from having anymore games there going forward. What do you think about the situation in Brazil and do you think the league will ever organize another match in the country?
