Peyton Manning is one of the greatest to ever play the game. He knows a lot about the quarterback position and around every draft, he gets asked what he thinks about the current class. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is a potential number one overall pick who people have lots of opinions on. Manning shared his opinion of Young and compared him to current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow.

Peyton Manning Compares Bryce Young To Joe Burrow
Because of his size, many people have compared Young to Drew Brees or Russell Wilson. However, Manning sees it differently which he talked about on his Omaha Productions show On the Clock.
“I think (Drew) Brees and Russell Wilson are kind of the easy comparisons because of the size similarities. But when you talk to real scouts, Burrow is kind of the guy that comes to mind, right? Because of, sort of, the sixth sense in the pocket, the decision-making, processing information quickly.”
“I’m not saying Bryce is going to have that same success as Joe right away. But I think the instincts that Joe has that Bryce had, the ability to beat the coverage keeps a lot of plays alive. … Recognition, processing, instincts, you see a little bit of Joe Burrow in Bryce Young.”
Manning is impressed with Young’s feel of the pocket and the instincts that he has. This is definitely where Burrow excels and makes him an elite quarterback in this league.
Can Bryce Young Turn A Struggling Team Around?
Whether it is the Panthers, Texans, or some other team near the top of the draft, everyone is hoping that Young can come in a make an immediate impact. His instincts will help him a lot in the league. The Panthers and the Texans are not void of weapons either. However, it is nowhere near what he had at Alabama. Can he sustain that type of success with inferior weapons? That will be the main question.
It is some high praise if Peyton Manning is comparing you to Joe Burrow. I’m sure whatever team drafts Young will be happy if that is what he turns into.
