Pete Carroll as the next head coach for the Chicago Bears seems to have received another green signal from former NFL player, Dan Orlovsky. In a recent episode of NFL Live, Orlovsky discussed the same and remarked how instrumental Carroll would be for a struggling Chicago Bears team in the upcoming NFL season.
Mid-way through a disappointing season, the Bears fired Coach Matt Eberflus, and finished the year in fourth position of the NFC West after winning six games and losing 11. In their final game of the regular season, the Bears faced the Green Bay Packers and lost the game 24-22.
“I remain adamant that the best thing you can give a young quarterback in the NFL is a very good defense… You want to give a young quarterback the structure of, ‘Hey, you don’t have to score 28 to 35 points for us to win the game.’ Then you can build them up. So can Pete Carroll come to Chicago and get this defense to play at a high level?” Dan Orlovsky said on NFL Live.
“And the second thing, and this is as important as Pete Carroll: Who is your offensive coordinator? It can’t be the philosophical stuff of the past… It has to be something that’s 100% perfect for Caleb Williams.” Orlovsky added.

As Orlovsky said, the Bears are eager to bring a coach who can mold quarterback Caleb Williams. While Williams did put up some impressive performances in the most recent season, his numbers would have certainly been better at the hands of a well-experienced coach. The QB managed a total of 3,541 yards, having scored a total of 20 touchdowns, along with six interceptions.
Pete Carroll To Meet With Las Vegas Raiders After Bears Interview
Meanwhile, it looks like Pete Carroll is looking for any and every opening to make his return to NFL coaching. After his interview with the Chicago Bears, the 73-year-old will meet with the Las Vegas Raiders next. The Raiders recently fired their head coach, Antonio Pierce, and are on the hunt for a replacement.
However, this time around, the candidate will have to meet Tom Brady as well, who is a minor owner of the team’s franchise. It was also rumored that Brady spoke to Bill Belichick, who is currently the head coach of the University of North Carolina’s football team. If Pete Carroll lands the Las Vegas Raiders job, he will be the sixth coach for the team in a period of five years.
