Penn State fans had a tough Saturday as they watched No. 4 Ohio State win 20-13 in Happy Valley. The day started too early for their liking, as the crowd wanted a night game so they hosted a “White Out” against the Buckeyes. Instead, Fox chose to select the matchup for its “Big Noon Kickoff” telecast.
Penn State had a hot start
The No. 3 Nittany Lions were off to a hot start at Beaver Stadium in the first quarter when they took a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. However, the Buckeyes would dominate the rest of the game en route to a seven-point win on the No. 3 team in the nation.
Head coach James Franklin and the home crowd had verbal exchanges after the game. Fans were not impressed with Franklin dropping another loss to a top-five program. (Franklin has just one win over a top-five team in his career with the Nittany Lions.)
Ohio State had some help
Nittany Lions fans were also upset with the officiating during the game. Safety Elliott Washington was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty on a play that had resulted in a Buckeyes fourth down. Officials ruled that Washington taunted Carnell Tate when he stood up over the wide receiver.
The Buckeyes would later score a touchdown on the drive to go up 14-10.

College football fans on social media thought the call was soft and unfairly in favor of the Buckeyes.
“Anything for Ohio State,” one fan wrote.
“This is why I stopped watching sports. Completely changes the game for absolutely no reason,” wrote another.
“Anything to prop up Ohio state,” read one comment.
“Play of the game in my opinion. After this buckeyes scored a td,” suggested another.
“The amount of calls that go in favor for Ohio State is incredible,” wrote a fan.”
“Big Ten refs just trying to DRAG Ohio State to a title week in week out,” posted another.
