Paul Finebaum Names The Best Team In College Football, And It’s Not Who Everyone Thinks

Paul Finebaum is the king of the SEC, and usually, he gives all teams from the south the benefit of the doubt. Last week, the 69-year-old talk show host was going after the college football playoff committee for ranking Alabama and Georgia so low, but his take would backfire on him this weekend.

Alabama would get embarrassed at Oklahoma losing 24-3, ending their playoff hopes, and Finebaum didn’t even say that one of the teams he covers is the best in the sport.

Finebaum knows the SEC inside and out and who is good, and none of the teams he sees up close is better than this team.

During the Paul-In, Paul-Out on ESPN’s SportsCenter, Finebaum stated, “ Ohio State, to me, looks like the best team in the country.”

It took Finebaum a lot for him to say the Buckeyes, and even though this is the same team that lost to Oregon, who still hasn’t lost, he still thinks they are better than the Ducks.

Right now, it feels like Oregon and Ohio State are ahead of everyone else, but you can’t count out Georgia just yet because they have the best head coach in the sport, Kirby Smart, and the only team with championship experience left.

Ohio State will take on Michigan this week. If they win, they will head to the Big Ten title for a rematch with Oregon.
