The Baltimore Ravens decided to not pick up Linebacker Patrick Queen’s fifth-year option according to a source. NFL Network Reporter Ian Rapoport confirmed the news Monday.

Queen was set to make $12.72 million in 2024. Queen will now play out the rookie contract he signed in 2020.

Queen is set to make $2,268,410 in 2023 according to SpotRac. Queen received $11,483,261 in guaranteed money in 2020.

Queen is one of Baltimore’s best defensive players. Queen has played 50 games. Queen has recorded 321 tackles, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and three interceptions.

Queen will have to prove he is worthy of a second contract. If Queen’s play improves and he stays healthy he has a chance to stay in Baltimore past 2023.

The Raven’s defense ranked 10th in the NFL last season. Baltimore allowed 324.3 yards per game and allowed 18.5 points per game.
