Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting quarterback, was asked about his expectations from tight end Travis Kelce in the upcoming NFL season. Mahomes definitely did not hold back and simply stated that he expected Kelce to be and play like himself for the Chiefs in the next season.
The previous football season was definitely not Travis Kelce’s best one, and the tight end clearly struggled from start to finish. To top it all off, Kelce’s performance during the Super Bowl matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles was abysmal by definition, and the tight end failed to score during the most important clash of the season.
“I expect Travis to be Travis man,” Patrick Mahomes said about tight end Travis Kelce to press reporters after the training minicamp on Wednesday.
Patrick Mahomes also went on to remark what he loves best about Travis Kelce, especially his leadership skills. The three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback highlighted that the tight end leads everyone by example and that Kelce’s leadership has had a very positive impact on the entire team.
“I think more than anything it’s the leadership that he brings to the building every single day and how he leads by example and how he leads vocally. It’s a big impact on our football team, and so I expect him to play at a high level, and then be a even better leader,” Patrick Mahomes added on his comments about Travis Kelce.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are thick teammates and even closer friends with each other off the field. Mahomes and Kelce have even gone into business together and have invested in a steak bar that is scheduled to open sometime in Kansas City.

Patrick Mahomes’ Teammate, Travis Kelce, Blamed Media For Terrible Performance
Patrick Mahomes’ teammate, tight end Travis Kelce, did not perform all that well in the previous football season. After the season ended, sources close to Kelce revealed that the tight end felt that the intense media scrutiny covering his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift was the reason for his disappointing numbers.

However, it looks like Travis Kelce is all out to show an improved version of himself in the upcoming football season. Kelce has been working extra hard in the training camps with the rest of the Chiefs after taking several months off from the spotlight with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Mahomes and Kelce will be seen on the field kicking off their next season with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
