The Kansas City Chiefs have been in the Super Bowl for the last five of six seasons in the NFL. In that span, they have won three titles and lost two in that span.

One of the reasons why Kansas City has been so good is because of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has won a couple of MVPs and Super Bowl MVPs as well already in his career. Does he even need to play another down in the NFL to be a first ball hall of famer?

NFL Analyst Believes That Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Would Already Be a First Ballott Hall of Famer

With the NFL introducing the hall of fame class of 2025 over the weekend in Canton, Ohio, there are several current NFL players who are potentially on their way to be inducted there in the future. To no surprise, Mahomes is one of several players who potentially get into the hall of fame if he retired from the league today.

CBS Sports writer Jeff Kerr said about the Chiefs star quarterback potentially getting into Canton, Ohio in the future,

“Patrick Mahomes could retire now and be inducted on the first ballot when he’s eligible for the Hall of Fame. He is just one of five quarterbacks to win three Super Bowls (Brady, Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman) and one of three quarterbacks to win three Super Bowl MVPs (Brady, Montana). Mahomes also has the second-most playoff wins by a quarterback in NFL history (17), behind only Brady (35).

Mahomes also has the most wins (89) and passing touchdowns (245) by any quarterback in his first eight seasons in NFL history — and he played in just one game his rookie season. He has the most passing yards per game (288.9) in NFL history as well. And all this is before Mahomes has turned 30.

    Mahomes is heading to Canton.”

Mahomes is entering his ninth season in the NFL. He has been in the league since 2017 but was the backup to Alex Smith that season. During 112 games career games, Mahomes has completed 66.6% of his passes for 32,352 yards, 245 touchdowns, and 74 interceptions. He also has rushed for 2,243 yards on 432 carries and 14 touchdowns, along with averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

He is 29 years old and still has time to add to his hall of fame resume already. It is true that Mahomes would be a hall of famer if he never played another down in the NFL again. However, he should be the Chiefs starting quarterback for the next decade or so as long as he can stay healthy also.
