Patrick Mahomes has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league from the moment he started. The 29-year-old has established one of the best starts to a career in NFL history. It will be interesting to see how much more hardware he can win for the Chiefs.
However, he won’t be participating in one massive sporting event that left fans stunned.
Breaking: Patrick Mahomes Opts Out Of Massive Sports Event (Report)

In 2028, Mahomes will not compete in the Summer Olympics:
The 2028 Summer Olympics are set to take place in Los Angeles, California. Flag football is coming to the Summer Games, too. The NFL announced earlier this month that players will likely be allowed to compete in the 2028 Summer Games.
Of course, the roster for the 2028 Summer Olympics flag football team will be made up by USA Football. It’ll be USA Football’s call when it comes to which – if any – NFL players will be included on the roster.
Mahomes, the best quarterback in the NFL, is an obvious choice to lead the team. However, on Thursday, he made it clear that he’s not planning on competing.
Mahomes, who will be 32 years old in the summer of 2028, said that he plans on skipping the Summer Olympics. He’ll probably leave that roster spot for a younger player.

It’s a disappointing announcement from Mahomes, though it makes sense. Mahomes, who has won three Super Bowls, is playing for NFL history, not an Olympic gold medal for flag football. He hopefully has at least another decade-plus in the National Football League. Risking injury at the Summer Olympics probably doesn’t make sense for him at this stage of his career
Of course, it’s really fun watching the NBA‘s best players compete against the world’s best at the Summer Olympics. And it would be cool to see the NFL’s best players do the same.
But it sounds like Mahomes will be passing on this one.
