Carolina Panthers rookie Tetairoa McMillan has made it clear who inspires him most on the football field. As he steps into a pivotal role with the team, McMillan revealed that his favorite football player of all time is Larry Fitzgerald, a Hall of Fame-caliber wide receiver known for his unmatched reliability and professionalism.

Selected eighth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, McMillan is already drawing comparisons to some of the league’s most impactful receivers. Standing 6-foot-4, He brings a combination of size, athleticism, and versatility that has Panthers fans and analysts excited. He has frequently cited Fitzgerald as a model for on-field excellence and consistency, aiming to emulate the Arizona Cardinals legend’s ability to make game-changing plays.

During his collegiate career at Arizona, McMillan showcased the traits that align him with his idol. With over 3,400 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons, he earned All-American honors and solidified himself as a dependable target. Much like Fitzgerald, McMillan prides himself on being a reliable option for his quarterback, capable of excelling in both inside and outside roles.

McMillan’s admiration for Fitzgerald extends beyond statistics. He values the way Fitzgerald approached the game, not just as a prolific receiver but also as a leader and teammate, traits McMillan aims to replicate with the Panthers. His focus on building chemistry with quarterback Bryce Young and the receiving corps reflects his commitment to fostering team success.

Just recently, McMillan claimed Fitzgerald as his favorite football player of all time. This can be seen in an article done by DJ Siddiqi for RG.org

“There’s nobody that I really modeled my game or tried to be like,” says McMillan. “But one dude who is my favorite football player of all time is Larry Fitzgerald.”

With comparisons to other greats like Mike Evans and Keenan Allen, McMillan is determined to carve out his own legacy while honoring those who paved the way. His journey begins with high expectations as he steps into a lead role for Carolina.
