Adam “Pacman” Jones Drops Truth Bomb About Coach Prime in the NFL — and It’s Tied to Shedeur Sanders

The NFL world is anticipating the return of Deion Sanders, this time as a head coach. Widely regarded as one of the greatest cornerbacks the sport has seen, he has won two Super Bowls, was Defensive Player of the Year in 1994, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

Currently, he is known for coaching college football programs but there is recent buzz that he could be making the move to the NFL soon, with nine head coaching vacancies. His son Shedeur Sanders is currently playing for the Cleveland Browns.

Amid these rumors, former player Pacman Jones has revealed that Deion would coach for an NFL team only on one condition that relates to his son.

Pacman Jones says that Deion Sanders will only coach son Shedeur

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was fired after a poor 5-12 season and they are now looking for another name. Recently, Jones entered a new option for the team to consider. In an interview with TMZ, the former cornerback was asked whether Deion, with whom he has a close friendship with, will consider coaching in the NFL. Deion is currently the head coach of the University of Colorado Boulder college football team, and previously at Jackson State Tigers.

Jones said that Deion will not want to go against his own son, “I could see it happening, but me knowing Pop (Deion), it will have to be Cleveland. He’s not gonna go and coach against Shedeur.” The legendary cornerback is definitely loyal to his family, and will not want to disrupt his son’s budding career from the opposite side.

He also added that the 58-year-old wants to get more success at his current team, “Knowing him, he wanna finish what he started at Boulder.” Jones then clarified that he could join an NFL team in the future, but it must be at a team where his son is playing. “I’m not saying it can’t happen, but if it was to happen, it would be somewhere where Shedeur is playing at.”

As his son plays for the Browns, and they also need a head coach, Deion is a choice for the franchise. However, he had a terrible season with Colorado with an overall 3-9 record. This is in contrast with his previous season with them where they had an overall 9-4 record. It seems unlikely that Deion will be a serious choice for the Browns for now.

Deion Sanders son Shedeur at Cleveland Browns

Deion is known for developing talents at his college teams, with his own Shedeur proof of that. The younger Sanders played for both of his father’s college teams, which proves Jones’ earlier statements that Deion will not go against his son.

Shedeur was drafted by the Browns in the 2025 Draft in the fifth round, and has started the last seven games of the season. While the Browns did not have a good season, he was an overall good quarterback. The rookie posted 1,400 passing yards, and 7 touchdowns and has the potential to be even better in the coming seasons.

Currently, the Browns have an uncertain quarterback situation. Veteran Deshaun Watson missed the whole season and has a massive contract, but will still be expected to stay on the roster. Dillon Gabriel is another rookie alongside Shedeur but is expected to leave or be relegated to second or third choice. Sanders’ performances at the end of the season could mean that he could play an important role for the team next season. A new head coach will need to be appointed before any changes to the situation.

For now, it remains to be seen what actions the Browns take regarding their vacant head coach position, and whether Deion Sanders will choose to go there.
