The Green Bay Packers earned themselves a playoff spot with their huge win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Green Bay also became the first team to shut out their opponent this season, 34-0 was the final.
However, Christian Watson had to leave the contest due to a knee injury. Today we found out why.
“Holy Crap” Packers Fans Swarm Social Media Following Christian Watson Injury Diagnosis
According to a source at Wisconsin Sports Heroics:
During Monday Night’s 34-0 win over the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field, the injury occurred during a 14-yard end around. As Watson went out of bounds at the Saints’ 6-yard line, Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry landed on his left knee.
He was in clear pain after the play and would leave the game. He would later return, but would again leave the game.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
Matt LaFleur said the tests came back positive on WR Christian Watson’s left knee.
“We got good news on him. It’s more just a bruise.”
LaFleur said Watson could potentially play Sunday at Minnesota depending on how he’s able to practice this week.
Fans were stoked to see Watson would be okay:
