Breaking: Packers Have Officially Communicated With Veteran Quarterback Following Jordan Love Injury

The Green Bay Packers could be without Jordan Love for about a month of the regular season.   An MCL injury in the final seconds of their week one loss to the Philadelphia Eagles shocked the NFL world.

While Green Bay got relatively good news about the injury (MCL sprain rather than an ACL tear), It is not the way the team wanted to start their year.

While Malik Willis is expected to start Week Two against the Indianapolis Colts, there could be a new name in town very soon.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini:

While there is no deal right now, the Green Bay Packers have reached out to free agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill, sources tell The Athletic

The former Titans quarterback told me in July, for him to sign “it would have to be right situation.”

Here is a video of Tannehill talking about potentially joining a team this season:

With Willis as the Packers’ current (and sole) quarterback option, most free-agent quarterbacks will be on the table.

At 36, Tannehill is experienced and just played his last season with the Titans in 2023. The former Pro Bowler threw 14,447 yards and 93 touchdowns in five years with the Titans, completing 66.6 percent of his passes.

After years with the Dolphins, Tannehill had a career revival with the Titans. The Packers, which boast a quality receiving corps downfield, could provide another boost to his career.
