The Green Bay Packers suffered a brutal loss to the Minnesota Vikings in week four. After digging themselves into a 28-0 hole, they fought back to make it 28-22. However, a late field goal pushed the game out of reach and Green Bay fell 31-29.
The outcome might have been different if the kicking game didn’t have two massive mistakes.
Packers’ HC Matt LaFleur Makes Huge Call At Kicker Position (Report)
According to of The Acme Packing Company:
Not only did Narveson miss a kick that could have changed the Packers’ fortunes, but he missed two. On the season, Narveson is now five of nine on kicks 30 yards or longer, roughly translating to further out than the 12-yard-line.
He hasn’t even attempted a 50-yard field goal yet this season, meaning all of his misses have been virtual chip shots, on the relative scale of NFL kicking.
Still, Green Bay has confidence in Narveson moving forward. Here’s what LaFleur had to say about the kicker in his post-game press conference:
“I got a lot of confidence in Brayden. I do. I think that — you know, it’s tough — we all want the results. I think he’s a young guy and a lot of times with young kickers that you go through this. Certainly, I think that he’s, I know that he’s disappointed. I’ve still got a lot of belief in him. I’ve seen it in practice. I told you guys from Day 1, the day he got here, and just have seen his ability. So, it’s just part of it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t his day, but I got a lot of confidence and wouldn’t blink if we have to put him in another situation.”
