Packers Announce Huge News For Week 2 Vs. The Indianapolis Colts (Report)

The Green Bay Packers may be in salvage mode for the next few weeks.  Their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles ended about as poorly as it could have.  With just five seconds left and Green Bay trailing, Jordan Love went down with a lower leg injury.

It was later reported that Love suffered an MCL injury, relatively good news considering many worried it was an ACL injury.

As Green Bay turns their eyes to Week Two, some big news was leaked Sunday Morning.

Per Fox Reporter Jay Glazer, Malik Willis will get the start in Week Two against Indianapolis:

Just a couple of weeks have passed since Willis joined the team. In exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he was traded from the Titans to the Packers on August 26th. Having chosen Mason Rudolph as Will Levis’ primary backup, Willis became the odd man out in Nashville.

The news comes as little surprise, Green Bay brought in Willis because they liked what they saw from him much more than Michael Pratt or Sean Clifford.

The team can salvage its season by treading water while it is without its franchise quarterback during the season.

In three games without Love, Green Bay will aim to go at least 1-2.  If the defense settles in and Malik Willis catches fire like Josh Dobbs did last season, 2-1 or even 3-0 might be possible.
