The Green Bay Packers showed they aren’t giving up on the 2024 season in week two, not even close. With Jordan Love sidelined due to an MCL injury, Malik Willis got the start against the Indianapolis Colts, and he thrived.
Willis finished 12-14, 122 passing yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He also ran six times for 41 yards and a few crucial first downs.
As Green Bay prepares for the Tennessee Titans in week three, they could see an established veteran join their squad.
Packers Expected To Add 73-Game Starter After Massive Win Over Colts
Bleacher Report’s Scouting Department highlighted how Green Bay needs to add one interior offensive lineman right now:
Green Bay Packers
Add Now: IOL Mason Cole
The interior of the Packers offensive line lacks experience and depth, as rookies Jordan Morgan and Jacob Monk were listed on the depth chart as the team’s two backup options. Cole is average, but his 73 starts and six years in the league would at least give the offense a veteran to turn to in a pinch.
Below is a quick look at Cole’s career stats:

During his six-year NFL career, Cole has played for the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. During the 2023 season, he started all 17 games for Pittsburgh. The Packers still have the option of taking a flier on him if they wish to add more depth to the offensive line.
It could be worth investing in more offensive line depth for the Packers if they run the ball as much as they did on Sunday, and Cole should be at the top of their wish list come free agency.
