The Green Bay Packers made a huge decision for their defense today when they released Jaire Alexander. The move leaves a huge question mark regarding their secondary. However, amid the release, the team is finding out about a different position group that has a pro bowler refusing to practice.
Packers See Cornerstone Player Refuse To Practice Amid Jaire Alexander Release (Report)

Green Bay still has more business to attend to despite the release of Jaire Alexander on Monday, June 9:
Alexander’s release freed up $16.1 million in cap space for the 2025 season. The former All-Pro cornerback missed 34 of the last 68 games and would have the third-largest cap hit on the team in 2025.
The Packers may need to find a replacement corner either in free agency or by trade.
However, just hours after the announcement of Alexander’s release, there was a development at mandatory minicamps that must be handled.
Despite attending mandatory minicamps to avoid a fine, Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins did not practice on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Jenkins appears to be staging a hold-in after the Packers signed guard Aaron Banks to a massive deal and let starting center Josh Myers walk in free agency.

A 2019 second-round pick, Jenkins has played every spot on the offensive front and was rewarded with a four-year, $68 million contract extension in 2022.
Jenkins is seeking more financial security with two years left on his contract before he’s moved from guard to center, a less lucrative position in today’s NFL.
Green Bay could achieve this by either signing the 29-year-old lineman to a short-term extension or restructuring his current deal.
