Packers Announce Massive News After Heartbreaking Loss To Vikings
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport:
No fracture for Christian Watson, but a high-ankle sprain that could land him on Injured Reserve.
In Sunday’s 31-29 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Packers receiver Christian Watson sustained an injury to his left ankle during the second quarter.
A Jordan Love pass intended for Watson was intercepted by Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, who cut in front of Watson. The left leg of Watson got caught underneath him in the process. A medical team attended to Watson for a short period before he was able to exit the field and go into the injury tent on his own.
Watson was eventually taken to the locker room after undergoing a brief examination in the tent.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
Watson was not seen in the locker room after the game, but initial tests did not indicate fractures.
“I have talked to Christian, and he told me he thought it was just a sprain,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said after the loss.
Defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt also left the game with an ankle injury. He was seen in a boot after the game.
Watson had five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown in his first three games this season but two of those games were in a limited passing attack with Malik Willis filling in for Love at quarterback.
The Packers trailed 28-7 at halftime on Sunday but stormed back with 22 points in the fourth quarter before falling just short.
