The Georgia Bulldogs have had quite the interesting season throughout 2024, and staring quarterback Carson Beck has been at the front of it all.
Beck, a potential top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, began this season poised for the Bulldogs and looked amazing while playing. However, the past four games have been the exact opposite, as the quarterback is on a steep downward trend. Beck has recorded nine interceptions during the past four games after recording three through the previous five games.

As a result of his interceptions, the Georgia Bulldogs have not been the same high-powered offensive team they were. While there are other factors potentially affecting the quarterback, Beck has received plenty of criticism for how he has handled his struggles.
Recently, Beck was video taped smiling and laughing with a teammate on the sideline just minutes after a game-ending fumble by the quarterback occurred. Beck had previously had similar reactions, smiling during losses and seemingly not caring about costly mistakes.
While smiling and laughing on the field is not prohibited, many Bulldogs fans and college football fans alike feel it is a sign of immaturity. The quarterback went viral on social media multiple times this offseason between interesting messages to female fans and his comments about knowing “how to drive” after purchasing a sports car. Many fans feel Beck is immature, and some of his actions have become hard to defend in that sense.
Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck States “Run Me Over So I Don’t Have to Play Football Anymore” in Leaked Message

After the most recent loss Ole Miss, a picture of Beck in uniform asking to be “run over” so he would not have to play football anymore went viral.
I adore him. The Carson Beck snaps never get old. pic.twitter.com/cqza2CpkdV

In the picture, Beck captured his face with a caption on the image asking his friend to run him over with a car in order to end his football career. Beck was clearly joking, however, the attitude of his post upset many college football and Georgia Bulldogs fans as it added to the notion that the quarterback has a terrible demeanor.
While the image went viral following the loss to Ole Miss, it is actually an old picture being spread around at an unfortunate time. Beck was seen wearing a black and red jersey in the image, which was not the jersey the Georgia Bulldogs wore during the game. Georgia had been wearing white primary uniforms against the Ole Miss Rebels.
As much as Beck receives backlash for his actions, the quarterback is still a kid trying to figure things out at the highest level of collegiate football. The quarterback is deep in a slump, but it will be about how he digs his way out of the slump that truly matters as opposed to his reactions in game.
The Georgia Bulldogs remain the third-ranked school in the country in the CFP rankings even while Beck has struggled, which spells plenty of success for the team when Beck is back in stride.
