Everyone who covers college football is saying the same thing: how did Oregon get a more challenging road to the title game than Penn State, who they beat in the Big Ten title game?
The Ducks went 13-0 in the regular season, winning the Big Ten and getting the number one overall seed in the playoffs. The only issue is that they may have the hardest road to the title game of any of the Top Four seeds.
Oregon Got Hosed
Oregon has a bye to the quarterfinals, but they will have to play the Tennessee vs. Ohio State winner, which might be the best two teams in the country playing in the first round.
Penn State, who lost two games, has one Top 25 win against Illinois. It gets to play SMU in the first round and Boise State in round two, which is a joke.
Colin Cowherd from Fox Sports Radio stated, “Oregon got hosed! How does Penn State have an easier route?”

It’s a question everyone is asking themselves: how in the world does Penn State get the easiest path to the Final Four among every team in college football, and then you argue Texas is second who didn’t beat a single Top 25 team and lost to Georgia twice?
College football needs to change its playoff rules because there is no other sport where the best team would have to face the hardest second-round matchup, while teams that lost games and did nothing in the regular season get a walk in the park.
