The Oregon Ducks are projected to be among the top teams in the nation in 2025, contending for their second straight Big Ten Conference Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff. The reason they are one of the top colleges despite losing many starters to the next level is Dan Lanning’s ability to identify and add elite talent in the transfer portal year after year. In Lanning’s last three years as head coach, the Ducks have ranked in the top 10 in 247 Sports’ transfer portal rankings, finishing 9th in 2023, 2nd in 2024, and 5th in 2025.
One of his biggest tasks this offseason was to find a high-level left tackle replacement for Josh Conerly Jr.
Oregon Ducks landed Josh Conerly Jr.’s replacement in the transfer portal

In the winter transfer portal, former Nevada Wolf Pack standout 6-foot-8 left tackle Isaiah World transferred to the Oregon Ducks for the 2025 season and his final year of college eligibility. World had a great four-year stint at Nevada, taking over as the starting left tackle in 2022 and getting the nod in 35 out of 36 games. His accolades include an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in 2023 and 2024.
Isaiah World had a breakout 2024 campaign and was considered one of the top 25 offensive tackles in the FBS. He gave up 13 pressures and zero sacks allowed in 458 pass-blocking snaps while posting an 82.3 pass-blocking grade and a 75.5 overall PFF grade in 13 starts.
He is ranked among the most impactful transfers

In an ESPN article, Max Olson compiled his final transfer portal rankings, where he ranks the top 100 transfers for the 2025 season. Olson ranked Isaiah World as the top offensive lineman and the 7th-best transfer. He explains what World brings to the Oregon Ducks and that many scouts consider him a potential first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
“The massive pass protector was a three-year starter for the Wolf Pack primarily at left tackle and brings invaluable experience with more than 2,300 career snaps. He did not surrender a sack during his junior season and picked up honorable mention All-Mountain West recognition,” Olson said.
“World is viewed as a potential first-round draft pick by NFL scouts entering his final season of eligibility and is making the move up to the Power 4 to prove he merits that praise.”
