The Oregon Ducks are the number-one ranked team in the country. They are 10-0 this season and are on track to potentially win the BIG10 Conference and get the number one seed in the college football playoffs this season.
A lot of Oregon’s success over the last few years has been because of head coach Dan Lanning. This weekend, the Ducks will head on the road and face the Wisconsin Badgers (5-4). The kickoff for that matchup will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Oregon Ducks Fans Stressed Out Over Report About Head Coach Dan Lanning Generating NFL Buzz
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, he announced on Wednesday that there is buzz surrounding the Ducks head coach about him leaving college football to become an NFL head coach in 2025. He would not be the first college head coach to do so.
Nearly a decade ago, Chip Kelly left the Oregon Ducks to coach the Philadelphia Eagles. Would Dan Lanning leave college to go coach somewhere else? It would be interesting to see if that happened. Here is what the Ducks fans had to say about the latest report from ESPN:

Lanning ain’t going anywhere.
He will get a big raise if the whispers get louder and seems perfectly content in Eugene.

Think it’ll be tough to get him out of Oregon right now
But if you’re an NFL GM
Have to make the phone call

Don’t DO IT. Oregon coaches are now to flirt which the league. Atleast win a natty first

Dan Lanning could do what Jim Harbaugh did last season with the Michigan Wolverines. Harbaugh led Michigan to a title and then left to coach the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL. There is no doubt that there will be several openings this offseason.
Potential Landing Spots
The New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints will need new head coaches this offseason. Some other teams could also be making firings either before the end of the season or after the season. A few other teams who could make some moves are the New York Giants, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Bears, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Dan Lanning of the Oregon Ducks could very well get some interviews with a couple of NFL teams. Lanning would be the hottest name from the college football market, but Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will be the hottest name on the market this offseason.
