The Ole Miss Rebels are the sixth-ranked team in the nation. They are preparing to face the unranked Kentucky Wildcats this weekend. Ole Miss has an elite offense this season because of quarterback Jaxson Dart.
This season, he has completed 79.3% of his passes for 1,136 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 90 yards on 23 carries and three touchdowns, along with averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
Bleacher Report Scouting Department Thinks That the New York Jets Should Draft Ole Miss Rebels Quarterback Jaxson Dart In the 2025 NFL Draft
The Bleacher Report Scouting Department had ways to make each NFL team better through the 2025 NFL Draft, 2025 NFL free agency, and also before the 2024 NFL trade deadline. The New York Jets at some point will have to think about life after Aaron Rodgers. Bleacher Report thinks that they should draft Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft. They said:
“If Rodgers continues to play like he did on Thursday, the Jets won’t want to spend first-round capital on a quarterback next year. They won’t be drafting high enough, and Rodgers will want the team to go all-in on winning in his age-41 season. It would still be wise to target a Day 2 or 3 prospect with traits that give him a high ceiling.
Damian Parson sees some things in Jaxson Dart that could be polished by seeing Rodgers at work.
“Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart is a toolsy prospect with NFL arm talent and plus-level mobility/athleticism. Dart is a gamer and will put it all on the line to secure a win for his team—even sacrificing his body as a runner. He is effective in the quick passing game and fits the NFL West Coast offense with a strong running game and play-action passing. Dart has a playmaking mindset that should endear him to NFL coaches during the scouting process.””
With the way Jaxson Dart is playing, there is a chance that he could be drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Tyrod Taylor is currently the New York Jets backup quarterback and he is not the long-term answer for them. Dart going to the Jets would be a perfect situation for him,
Potential Heisman Trophy Winner
At this point in the college football season, the Ole Miss Rebels are 4-0. Jaxson Dart is one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy right now along with Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward. Ward could also be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
If Dart wins the Heisman Trophy, there is a chance that he could be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He could be one of those quarterbacks who makes his way into the Top 10. The New York Jets will most likely not be drafting in the Top 10 as long as they continue to win football games, but they will need to draft a quarterback this year.
