Ole Miss has a huge game this weekend against Georgia, and if they win, there is a great chance they could be heading to the college football playoffs this winter.
The Rebels have two losses this year, so if they lose one more game, they will not be playing in the postseason. There was a good chance that head coach Lane Kiffin could be heading out of town this offseason.
Ole Miss Won’t Be Losing Kiffin To Florida

There were a lot of rumors that Kiffin would be a major target to be the head coach at Florida if they moved off of Billy Napier, and now that won’t be happening.
On Thursday, Florida announced that it would keep Napier for another season, making it impossible for Kiffin to become the head coach there.
If the Gator’s head coaching job had been available this offseason, it would have been considered the best. With Kiffin’s experience in the SEC and his success at turning around Ole Miss, it was believed he could do the same in Florida.

Now that the Gators job is not available, there is a great chance that Kiffin will stay in Oxford for one more season since there probably won’t be a job opening that is better than Ole Miss.
If the Rebels do make the playoffs, it will be hard for Kiffin to leave anyway since the games don’t start until the middle of December. Most colleges will want to hire their head coach a week or two after the regular season ends to get a head start on the transfer portal and recruiting.
