The Oklahoma Sooners have had 11 players announce their eligibility for the NFL draft. Only six or seven of these prospects are expected to get drafted, depending which source you’re pulling from. The players who don’t make the cut will be listed as undrafted free agents.
Here’s a breakdown of the OU draft eligible players and when they’re expected to be drafted, pre-combine of course:
Anton Harrison, OT – Ranked #30 overall – Position rank #5

Harrison started at left tackle for the Sooners and anchored the position for them all season long. He’s their only player who is projected to be drafted in the first round. He’ll be entering the draft after his junior season. According to PFF, he only gave up a single sack in 12 games played. Harrison opted out of the Florida Cheez-it Bowl, a game in which the Sooners lost by only three points.
Marvin Mims Jr, OT – Ranked #76 overall – Position rank #9

Marvin Mims Jr. didn’t let his size get in the way in college. He made phenomenal catches all season and isn’t afraid of contact, despite his smaller stature. The wide receiver is projected to get selected in round #3. He was a four-star recruit out of Texas and was always considered undersized at his position at 5’11”, 180 lbs. Mims may ultimately be limited to slot receiver in the NFL. He’s also a good punt returner and will likely be utilized in this way while he develops.
Eric Gray, RB – Ranked #137 overall – Position rank #15

For a team looking for literal bang for their buck, they need look no further. Eric Gray could be a steal in this year’s draft. He isn’t expected to be drafted until the fifth round, and if you’ve seen him play, he’s better than a fifth rounder.
Gray rushed for 1372 yards with 11 TDs and a lone fumble in 12 games. He’s excellent in the open field, and smashes through the line in short yardage situations, always seeming to fall forward. He was a dominant force for the Sooners, and it’ll be a tall order for them to replace him.
Wanya Morris, OT – Ranked #156 overall – Position rank #22

Morris was the starting right tackle for the Sooners. He was sidelined for the first two weeks of the season due to academics while also missing some time due to an injury suffered against TCU. According to most scouting reports, he’s projected to go late in round #5. He was a rare five-star recruit out of high school. Morris was an important part of Oklahoma’s offense and gave up just two sacks in nine games on the 2022 season.
Jalen Redmond, DL – Ranked # 174 overall – Position rank #34

Redmond will be entering the draft after his senior season. He’s projected to go in round #6. He was a four-star recruit out of high school and was heavily recruited. As a sophomore, he got a monstrous 11 sacks. His production has slid a bit in each of the following seasons, though sacks weren’t his only contribution. Redmond had four sacks in just ten games for OU in 2022.
Brayden Willis – Ranked #310 overall – TE – Position #18

Sooners’ fans know well that Brayden Willis was a force to be reckoned for their team. How he is ranked #18 at his position is probably a bit perplexing, and surely inspirational for him. He was, however, missing his starting quarterback for two and a half of those 13 games. For teams needing a tight end in 2023, he would be a definite steal in the late rounds.
The Sooners who aren’t expected to get drafted are:
Michael Turk – punter
Chris Murray – guard
McKade Mettauer – guard
DeShaun White – linebacker
Jeffrey Johnson – defensive line
With the NFL combine right around the corner, all of the mentioned players have the potential to increase their draft stock by simply performing well. The Sooners rank seventh all-time in terms of total NFL players.
