The Oklahoma Sooners have lost another SEC game which has brought the opening season in the conference to a sudden halt.
The Sooners entered realignment with high hopes before entering a new, more competitive conference. Competition has certainly been what the Sooners have received, except it appears to be too much for the team at this time. Between injuries and mishaps on the field, many of the Oklahoma Sooners fans are done with the current coaching staff.
Oklahoma is currently in the midst of a three game losing streak after getting their initial win in the SEC. The Tennessee Volunteers welcomed the Sooners to the conference, and the Sooners are still recovering from injuries suffered during that clash. Following the win over Auburn, the Oklahoma Sooners lost to Texas, South Carolina, and now Ole Miss.
The schedule moving forward does not get much easier for the Oklahoma Sooners either, with quite a difficult batch following a warm-up against Maine. Missouri, Alabama, and LSU still remain on the schedule for Oklahoma and all three schools have been playing high-level football.
With the possibility of things only getting worse moving forward, the Oklahoma Sooners fans are ready for changes to occur.
Oklahoma Sooners Fans Want Coach Brent Venables Fired Following Third Straight Loss
With the Oklahoma Sooners failing to find success on the football field, many fans on social media have begun to call for serious changes.
The man behind many of the proposed changes is coach Brent Venables, who has had an interesting tenure with the Sooners thus far. Many fans do not want Venables gone solely because of the losing streak, but rather due to the fact that the team is flopping after entering a conference to play more competitive football.
“We didn’t live up to the standard today” – Brent Venables in his press conference (probably)
Yea, you haven’t lived up to the standard at all in any of your three years as HC. We are literally the laughing stock of the SEC

34 games for the Brent Venables era… think we’ve seen enough.
He just doesn’t have it.— BeatMaine!⭕️🙌🏻 (@sooneroutsider) October 26, 2024
While many Oklahoma Sooners fans are upset with the coaching staff and would like to see Venables gone, others argue the opposite. The Sooners have been plagued with injuries this season and have not played the past five games at full-strength. However, even with the team in such an injured state the players are fighting to win games, and that is something that is hard to create as a coach.
I don’t even care if we lose.
We are fighting and that’s enough for me.That Brent Venables culture ain’t no joke. We just need the right guys around him. BRENT IS THE DUDE

Oklahoma issue is that they have a defensive Coordinator as a offensive coach. No where in history of any college football team has that worked. He needs to be the defensive coordinator and they need to hire a new offensive coach.
