“Officially…” Oklahoma Sooners Reveal Leading Sackers Week 12 Status

The 11th-ranked 7-2 (3-2) Oklahoma Sooners play on the road against the 4th-ranked 8-1 (6-0) Alabama Crimson Tide at Saban Field for Week 12 of the regular season. Oklahoma aims to upset Alabama for the second straight year to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive, as a loss would likely eliminate them. Vegas has the Sooners listed as six-point underdogs.

However, an injury could impact the outcome of today’s afternoon matchup.

Oklahoma Sooners’ elite EDGE rusher got hurt in Week 10

Oklahoma Sooners, R. Mason Thomas
Oklahoma coach Brent Venables talks with Sooners defensive lineman R Mason Thomas (32) during a college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the Ole Miss Rebels at Gaylord Family Ð Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025. Ole Miss won 34-26.

R. Mason Thomas suffered an apparent quad injury during the first quarter of Week 10 against Tennessee. The elite EDGE rusher injured his quad while taking a 71-yard fumble to the house and did not return for the remainder of the game. Coming off a BYE, Mason Thomas was limited during this week’s practice, and the Sooners listed him as questionable on Thursday’s availability report.
