The Ohio State Buckeyes have not stopped adding to their loaded 2025 recruiting class, this time adding Jarquez Carter, a 4-star defensive tackle from Newberry, Florida. Assistant head coach, and defensive line coach Larry Johnson continues his impressive offseason by being credited with landing the Florida defensive tackle. Carter chose Ohio State over Penn State, UCF, Miami, and Florida.

Jarquez Carter Brings Versatility to Ohio State
Jarquez Carter will provide the Buckeyes with versatility when he arrives on campus. Carter plays with a high motor and competitive physicality, allowing him to line at any position up front. He is a true see-ball, get-ball defender, and is often chasing down ball carriers and destroying anything in his way to do so. That type of violence and physicality almost always translates to the next level, and Ohio State will be excited to see that transition occur.
Ohio State 2025 Recruiting Outlook
Ohio State has the number one rated recruiting class in the country per 247 sports. Adding Carter, the 45th-ranked defensive lineman in the country, will help bolster that number-one-ranked class. The Buckeyes have four 5-star, seventeen 4-star, and three 3-star commitments in that 2025 class.
