Ohio State football is 8-1 on the season and one successful late fourth-quarter drive away from being undefeated. On Tuesday, the newest rendition of the College Football Playoff standings was released, with Ohio State holding the second spot behind just Oregon, who they lost to earlier this season, 32-31. Of the nine ranked teams with one loss on their record, the CFP committee found it fitting to rank Ohio State the lowest, showing them favor over the Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Miami Hurricanes, among others. The Ohio State Buckeyes have three regular-season games remaining, with only one coming against a team with a winning record.
Next weekend, the Buckeyes will host the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers in a clash of two of the top teams in the country. Indiana holds the fifth spot in the latest CFP rankings. However, FanDuel Sportsbook has Ohio State as a heavy favorite, much to the pleasure of the Buckeye faithful.
Ohio State Football Fans Looking For Statement Win Against Indiana
According to On3 through Twitter:
NEW: Ohio State opens as a 10.5-point favorite over Indiana next Saturday, per @FDSportsbook
Who you got?
Next weekend, the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. Winners of three straight, Ohio State will look to add to a resume that features a 20-13 road win against the then-ranked No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions. Meanwhile, in their first year under head coach Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers are 10-0 for the first time in program history. They went 3-9 last season. Yet, despite their massive turnaround led by Cignetti and quarterback Kurtis Rourke, FanDuel Sportsbook believes they are in for a rude awakening when they travel to face the Ohio State football program next weekend.
Indiana will be a 10.5-point underdog per FanDuel. Questions about the validity of Indiana’s undefeated record continue to swirl, with the team owning no ranked wins this season. Indiana’s most memorable wins have come against the Washington Huskies and the Michigan Wolverines, the two teams that played in last year’s College Football Playoff title game. However, they are a combined 10-10 this season. Nevertheless, many Ohio State football fans believe next Saturday will mark the first time the Hoosiers fall this season:
