Ohio State has been called out by many teams and coaches of other schools in the past, but those teams are mostly on the Buckeyes’ schedule.
One team Ohio State will not face this season unless they meet in the playoffs is Ole Miss, out of the SEC, led by head coach Lane Kiffin.
Kiffin has a unique personality that can sometimes rub people wrong. In the last few days, he started to go after Ohio State uniquely.
On Monday, the Ole Miss coach retweeted an article from ESPN titled “How Ohio State built a $20 million national championship or bust roster.”

It’s no secret that the Buckeyes spent a lot of money this offseason since they brought in some big-time transfer players like Caleb Downs, Will Howard, and Quinshon Judkins and returned a handful of top players who could’ve turned pro.
Kiffin was asked about his retweet on the Ohio State NIL article on Wednesday and stated he thought it was an interesting article.
Lane Kiffin Thinks Ohio State’s NIL Is On The High End
An article from On3.com’s Andrew Graham wrote that Kiffin was asked if the $20 million Ohio State is supposedly spending On NIL is comparable or different from other NIL budgets that Kiffin knows about, and the Ole Miss head coach said,” I would definitely think, from my knowledge, that would be the extreme high end.”

It wouldn’t be much of a shock if the Buckeyes did give out $20 Million in NIL. Head coach Ryan Day is on the hot seat, not beating Michigan three years in a row, and the boosters and fans of the program are sick of it.
It also doesn’t help that Michigan just won the national championship, so the Buckeyes needed to ensure they went all out this season and competed for a title.
Ohio State had better find a way to win it all this season, or guys like Kiffin and the rest of the college football world would laugh at them for not getting it done with that huge payroll.
