Ohio State and Georgia met two years ago in the college football playoff, one of the most exciting games of the last decade.
The game came down to a last-second field goal, which Buckeyes kicker Noah Ruggles missed, which would’ve given the Buckeyes the win.
Georgia beat TCU in the national championship a few weeks later, and many Ohio State fans are still mad about the outcome.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day pumps his fast after a touchdown by Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Devin Brown (33) during the first half of Saturday’s NCAA Division I football game against the Purdue Boilermakers at Ross-Ade Stadium in Lafayette.
Now that the 2024 season has kicked off, Georgia and Ohio State are ranked number one and two in the AP Top 25, and there is a great chance they could meet in the playoffs this season.
Georgia looks to be the best team in the country once again, and the Buckeyes are right behind them as the team that could knock them off, but if the two were to play a game on a neutral field tomorrow, Ohio State would be underdogs.
Ohio State Would Be 4.5 Point Underdogs To Georgia

College football analyst Josh Pate released his model, which predicts the points spread. Right now, Georgia would be favored 4.5 points against Ohio State on a neutral field.
I seeded Big Ten vs SEC 1-10 and ran the matchups. The Model™️ would favor the SEC team in 10 out of 10 games (nearly all within 1 possession)

Since Georgia is favored by 4.5 on a neutral field, the Bulldogs would be favored at home by around 7.5 and by 1.5 at Ohio State since the home field is usually good for a three-point swing.
Pate’s model is accurate most of the time. He even asked Fanduel what the lines would be in many Big Ten vs. SEC games if the teams played today, and Georgia is still about a 4.5 favorite over Ohio State in Fanduel’s eyes.

The season has just begun, and both teams have a long way to go, but if Ohio State wants to win it all, they will have to beat Georgia, and right now, no Buckeye fan should feel good about playing them.
We will have to see how the two teams turnout this year, but it looks like Georgia will be the best team in the sport again after beating Clemson 34-3 last week. Now, Ohio State needs to plant its flag against Iowa, Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan.
