Ohio State fans still can’t get over the Michigan sign-stealing scandal, and they are still going after the sign-stealer himself, Connor Stalions.
Stalions was a coaching analyst on the Michigan staff. His job was to decipher signals by identifying the opposing team’s signs from watching broadcast footage and getting them in the game without using technology, which is legal.
Stalions went over the top and flew people out to record opposing teams’ sidelines and their signals, and he was even walking around the Central Michigan sidelines one night trying to steal signs.
Michigan found itself in a lot of trouble last season when the news broke about the cheating scandal, which led to head coach Jim Harbaugh being suspended for the last three Big Ten regular season games and Stalions stepping down from his role.
Stalions, a big football nut, couldn’t stay away from the field forever, and this summer, he took a job at one of the local schools, Detroit Mumford High School as their defensive coordinator.
It didn’t take long for Stalions to get promoted to head coach because, on Friday, news broke that a scary incident happened to the real head coach, William McMichael, who suffered a mild stroke.
Stalions will be the acting head coach until McMichael returns. The former Michigan staffer had his first game on Friday night, and it didn’t go well.
Detroit Mumford High School lost 60-0 to Hamady, and according to David Goricki of the Detroit News, Mumford went 0-for-6 on fourth downs.
