JT Tuimoloau suffered an apparent ankle injury during the second quarter against Texas in the Cotton Bowl after a teammate was blocked into him. Tuimoloau limped off the field with a noticeable limb and went directly into the medical tent, where they later put tape around his left ankle. The elite All-Big 10 pass rusher returned in the second half and finished the night with seven tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and 1.5 sacks.

JT Tuimoloau participated as a limited participant during the week of practice. During Saturday’s press conference, Tuimoloau told the media that he will play against Notre Dame despite battling an ankle sprain compared to a “basketball ankle roll.” He also went on to say that he feels “really good.”
“I feel really good. I feel really good,” Tuimoloau said, via Paolo Uggetti of ESPN. “One thing, our strength coach says you can’t do too much of taking care of your body, so I’m overloaded on take care of everything.”
The Buckeyes’ pass rusher is tasked with lining up against an offensive tackle set to make his starting debut
Since star left tackle Anthonie Knapp will not play against Ohio State with a high ankle sprain, JT Tuimoloau will be tasked with lining up against Charles Jagusah for his starting debut. Jagusah suffered what was believed to be a season-ending torn right pectoral muscle during camp. However, since the Fighting Irish have made a deep playoff run, he returned against Georiga to play on special teams and filled in against Penn State for Rocco Spindler at right guard.
