The 6th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes finished the regular season 10-2, with a 7-2 record in conference games, and fourth overall in the Big 10. Since they lost to the Michigan Wolverines last week, the Buckeyes will not play in the Big 10 Conference Championship but have a good chance of making the 12-team College Football Playoff. Once the Conference Championships are over next week, the College Football Playoff committee will officially announce which teams have qualified.
The Ohio State Buckeyes will continue to be without a pivotal piece on their offensive line
Buckeyes’ elite left tackle Josh Simmons injured his knee, and the medical staff carted him off the field during their Week 7 loss to the Oregon Ducks. Simmons suffered a season-ending injury as he underwent knee surgery. Since then, left guard Donovan Jackson has filled in as Will Howard’s blindside protector. Carson Hinzman started at left guard from Weeks 10-12 and moved to center when Seth McLaughlin suffered an Achilles injury during practice before Week 13. Finally, Austin Siereveld has started the last two games in Jackson’s former spot.
Since the left tackle is out for the remainder of the season, he made a massive decision regarding his future.
